Additional information
Die im Palais Springer durch das Bundesdenkmalamt verwahrten Kunstgegenstände der Sammlung Louis Rothschild wurden per Rückstellungsbescheid der Finanzlandesdirektion für Wien, Niederösterreich und das Burgenland vom 23.9.1947 zur Restitution bestimmt, darunter auch das Besteck. Der von Louis Rothschild bevollmächtigte Rechtsanwalt Dr. Karl Trauttmansdorff übernahm das Essbesteck am 23.10.1947 (vgl. BDA-Archiv, Restitutionsmaterialien, K. 52/1, M. 1, Zl. 5738/47, fol. 14).
