Ein 1941 aufgenommenes Foto ist im KHM-Archiv vorhanden (KHM-Archiv, XV 1797).

Die Rossstirn wurde 1947 der Waffensammlung des Kunsthistorischen Museums (später: Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer) von Clarice Rothschild "gewidmet". Sie erhielt dort die Inventarnummer A 2236 (BDA-Archiv, Restitutionsmaterialien, K. 53, M. 4, Zl. 4463/47, fol. 34).

1999 wurde die Rossstirn (im Restitutionsbericht von 1998/1999, S. 2 irrtümlich mit der Nummer AR 113 bezeichnet) an die ErbInnen nach Alphonse und Clarice Rothschild restituiert.
