Die Pistole wurde zwar formal restituiert, aber 1947 – gemeinsam mit anderen Objekten der Rothschildsammlungen – von Clarice Rothschild der Waffensammlung des Kunsthistorischen Museums Wien "gewidmet", um im Gegenzug eine Ausfuhrbewilligung für die restliche Sammlung zu bekommen (BDA-Archiv, Restitutionsmaterialien, K. 53, M. 4, Zl. 4463/47, fol. 27–56).
Das Objekt wurde in der Waffensammlung (später: Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer) inventarisiert. 1999 wurde es restituiert (vgl. Restitutionsbericht 1998/1999, S. 3).
